Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. The Critical Care Intermediary Unit or CCIU specializes in cardiovascular patients and a variety of other Intensive Care Unit step-down patients. The department’s highly trained professionals provide quality therapeutic nursing care for patients with acute or chronic problems and often work in collaboration with Straub’s nationally recognized Burn Unit to ensure that critical burn patients receive the best treatment available for a fast recovery.
As a Ward Clerk, you will form an important part of the team that provides our quality nursing care services for Straub’s Critical Care Intermediary Unit. You will be coordinating activities at the nursing station and perform non-nursing and clerical functions on an intra and inter-departmental level. We are looking for someone with outstanding patient care and organizational skills, an appreciation for procedure and protocol and a commitment to our vision of delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Post high school vocational/specialized training. Medical terminology course. Medical office procedures course. Six (6) months clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
