Job Description:
To provide a welcoming environment and efficient valet services in accordance with guest and associate expectations alongside established performance standards.
Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Display a professional posture and post-up in designated area on front drive or curb area, ready handle events and manage guest related issues.
  • Maintain an aggressive awareness of the front drive/curb area and the garage and look for opportunities to initiate service.
  • Promptly greet all vehicle passengers that arrive to the front drive and also supervise associates to opening all occupied vehicle doors.
  • Offering guests warm and sincere welcome.
  • Open and close all vehicle doors for guests/visitors arriving/departing the hotel.
  • Interact with guests and ensure that the associates are engaged with the guests.
  • Offer luggage assistance as needed or requested.
  • Inspect associate’s demeanor and their engagement with guests.
  • Thoroughly inspect the valet staff’s work habit including completion of parking claim ticket by valet staff .
  • Ensure that associates operate in a safe manner making sure that they are parking cars in the designated areas with cars securely locked.
  • Continuous contact with Loss Prevention Department to ensure that the property is clear of unauthorized personnel.
  • Making sure that valets follow the proper valet parking procedures and that the drivers maintain the speed limit (5 MPH), announce guest/party name and match claim ticket numbers to ensure we deliver the correct vehicle to each guest.
  • Assist with loading of passengers and luggage, inquire if guest needs directions, and offer an appropriate departing comment.
  • Direct guest to the valet booth if parking fee has not been paid.
  • Maintain an alert, professional posture when not actively engaged with a guest on the front drive.
  • Monitor and maintain the appearance and overall cleanliness of the front drive and parking areas and perform any functions or tasks listed on the shift checklists.
  • Conduct and participate in daily shift briefings.
  • Conduct the MOS regularly to ensure the high level of service.
  • Be alert of presence of anyone in the garage if they do not belong and report them to supervisor/security at once.
  • Able to operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform traffic control and guest screening.
  • Work with other division and areas of the hotel to ensure the customer’s overall property experience meets or exceeds expectations and standards
  • Act as an ambassador of the Omni Los Angeles Hotel at all times while on or off property with an understanding that you are a representative of the hotel.
Qualifications:
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Superior associate involvement skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Knowledge of surrounding city area and attractions
  • Coach and train valet and cashier staff and constructive and progressive discipline when required.
  • Manage large events by analyzing parking and hotel situation.
  • Monitor cashier activity and on-the-spot audit for discrepancies.
  • Resolve and follow up on guest issues before the guest leaves the property.
  • Attend daily stand ups and share issues and concerns with hotel management.
  • Assist Loss Prevention department to attend to any vehicle related claims.
  • Excellent driving skills with the ability to operate both automatic and standard transmission equipped vehicles
  • DMV requirements – valid state driver’s license
  • Licensed driver for previous 24 months
  • No felony driving convictions
  • No more than two point violation on driving record
  • Flexible shift hours (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Approximately seven plus hours per shift standing, walking and running (intermittently) outdoors
  • Ability to lift a standard piece of luggage may be up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to supervise and manage multiple valet staff.
