Job Summary

General Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Meaningful Day Services and Personal Supports, the Job Developer is responsible for assisting individuals to discover, locate, and maintain community employment by providing training, supervision, and support to individuals with developmental disabilities working in the community. The Job Developer will assist those individuals to reach their full employment potential.

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist in the growth of the Supported Employment program.

- Able to meet measurable goals.

- Assist individuals in Job Discovery and build upon their skills.

- Assist individuals in completing a skill assessment.

- Assist individuals in locating, resume building, applying, and interviewing for jobs within the community setting.

- Assist individuals with interview preparation (discussions, role play, etc…)

- Accompanies individuals on job interviews.

- Provides coaching and training on work habits and skills for employment.

- Focuses on individual’s strengths, abilities, preferences, and interests.

- Provides on-the-job skill training for individuals in the Community Employment Program to ensure success.

- Promotes positive growth in the community.

- Assists in developing a natural support system to maximize independence.

- Responsible for complete and accurate documentation of progress on goals, incidents, training and fading of supports.

- Responsible for mobility training or transportation arrangements for individuals with disabilities.

- Acts as liaison with the individual, employer and agency.

- Conducts Satisfaction Surveys with employer and individual served to ensure satisfaction.

- Must remain current with all required training.

- Implements the Person-Centered Plan as written which includes goals and may include a behavioral plan.

- Treats everyone with dignity and respect. Works as part of a team to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities.

- Arrives to work, trainings, job sites, etc. on time.

- Follows routine and emergency medical procedures.

- Becoming familiar with and following the Agency Policies/procedures and the Agency Personnel Policies.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Your hours as Job Developer in Supported Employment must be flexible to meet the needs of the people served and the employer. Evenings and weekends may apply. Initially, your hours will be:

Base Schedule - 10am-2pm (20 hours)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education required: associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.

2. Experience: working with people with developmental disabilities, preferred, specifically Supported Employment.

3. Use of a car during all work hours and a valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
