Department Summary
The mission of the Division of Research & Innovation is to assist all components of the research enterprise at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. The HSC Next and Research Core Departments at the University of North Texas Health Science Center are seeking to hire a Student Assistant – Hourly.
This position will work with the Next Innovation Labs Program and Research Core Department. The student will perform various functions to support area directors and their labs.
Position Summary
Student employees assigned to this classification work under general supervision. Jobs assigned to this level usually require some previous experience, education, or specialized skill.
Responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to:
Perform routine maintenance on scientific equipment in department research labs
Restock lab and office supplies
Create and maintain an inventory of department supplies
Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds.
Maintain a clean and tidy work space.
Create quick use guides for laboratory equipment.
Other tasks as assigned.
Additional Posting Details
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of good laboratory practices to be able to work safely in BioSafety Level 2 labs. The position will require good time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
A high school diploma and some experience in college is preferred. Past experience working in a biologically focused laboratory a plus.

Work Schedule
Flexible – between 8 am – 4 pm. 10 hours per week.
