Nature of Work:
Under the supervision of the Strengthening Families Supervisor and Prevention Supervisor, will facilitate the Strengthening Families Program curriculum with groups of parents, adolescents or children, virtually or in person. This is a once-a-week, 14-week program for parents and their children at-risk for substance misuse ages 6-17. The program encourages family bonding by increasing communication skills.
Experience:
Teaching or leading groups with stressed families/families in crisis, adults, adolescents, or children is preferred.
License or Certification:
2 1/5-day Strengthening Families Program Family Coach Training (7 hours each day for 2 days, plus 3 hours, in addition to 7 hours of paid pre-training preparation time). If hired, the candidate will be required to take this training offered by the Department of Health at a later date.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, human services or public health preferred.
