Department Summary
The Office of Research Services (ORS) facilitates with SPH faculty with grant proposal and contract submissions in collaboration with the HSC Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). ORS provides award monitoring guidance, which includes review of effort certification, to recipients of grants or contracts in collaboration with OSP. ORS provides protocol guidance for projects involving human subjects in cooperation with Office of Research Compliance (ORS). ORS also identifies funding opportunities for faculty with the use of PIVOT a global funding database.

Position Summary
  • Send out bi-weekly notices to SPH Faculty of funding opportunities
  • Learn and understand requirements needed for external subawards to be included in SPH proposal packages.
  • Communicate and coordinate with subawards to ensure they are submitting all necessary documents to SPH, which will require using a subaward checklist.
  • Assist with tracking proposal documents needed from the SPH faculty for their proposals
  • Assist with various communication, emails, and various reports.
  • Other duties will be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled UNTHSC student.

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent Communication skills necessary for interaction with faculty and external stakeholders, proficient with Microsoft Office suite (word, excel, PowerPoint), Initiative and the ability to complete task independently, and strong organization skills.

Up to 19 hours per week (flexible hours available)
