Pay

  • $15-17 per hour
  • Pay rate based on qualifications and experience
  • Part-Time, Seasonal, Not Benefit Eligible

Hours of Work

  • Hours include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Hours vary based on scheduled programs and events
  • Position runs late June through September for peak season and occasional hours October-May
  • Hours may be limited by inclement weather

Typical Duties Performed

  • Work with all abilities and ages in a fun and safe environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Assist Recreation Programmer in the execution of a wide range of special events, such as community festivals, sporting events, and seasonal activities.
  • Assist in setting up and tearing down event infrastructure, booths, and displays.
  • Provide excellent customer service to event attendees, addressing questions, concerns, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Assist in implementing safety measures and security protocols to ensure the well-being of event participants, staff/volunteers, and the protection of park facilities.
  • Enforce all facility rules and policies, maintaining a consistent discipline policy for all participants.
  • Work closely with the Recreation Programmer, other special events staff, and other Park & Recreation staff, community organizations, sponsors, and vendors to ensure successful event partnerships.
  • Proactively identify and address issues, demonstrating the ability to take initiative in resolving challenges.
  • Accurately handle all cash transactions and accurately record items sold.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and set an example of conduct and professionalism for other staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain confidentiality with co-workers, participants, and the public.
  • Complete any necessary records and reports on attendance, receipts, accidents, and/or incidents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Job seekers should be age 16 or older
  • Current CPR-AED/First Aid certification or will to be certified
  • Willingness to work a variety of hours, including daytime, evenings, and weekends depending on event and program schedules
  • Stamina to work/stand long hours on-site during events
  • Ability to lift/move 50 pounds
  • Ability to complete tasks without supervision
  • Ability to work with all abilities and ages in a diverse community
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems

  • Participated in activities, sports, clubs, or other groups
  • Previous experience in special events and/or recreation programming

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
