Job Description

SkillsRI Fellows will serve in one of three capacity-building service-learning tracks – Nonprofit Development, Environmental Steward, or Career Ready RI Fellowship. SkillsRI AmeriCorps Fellows work closely with local nonprofits, government agencies, and educational institutions on various capacity-building projects and activities. – Business Planning, Marketing, Stakeholder Recruitment and Engagement, Climate Resilience, Career Readiness and Experiential Learning, Data Analysis, Project Management, and more. Through service with these organizations, Fellows will gain valuable exposure and experience, participate in professional development training, strengthen leadership skills, and build their professional networks.


Member Duties : SkillsRI Fellows will serve in one of two capacity-building service-learning tracks – Nonprofit Development and Environmental Stewardship Fellowship – RI Small Business Hub, Racial and Environmental Justice Committee, and RI Department of Environmental Management. Fellows will work to support Rhode Island’s most underserved and under-resourced communities by providing capacity-building activities to nonprofit organizations serving these communities. Through their work, AmeriCorps fellows will help strengthen the services, resources, and support for Rhode Islanders in need. Fellows will drive environmental justice and equity initiatives in Rhode Island by working with local agencies to execute community engagement and education strategies in communities that are most impacted by climate change. Through this work, AmeriCorps fellows will focus on fostering climate resiliency and strengthening Rhode Island’s most environmentally vulnerable areas.
