POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role of the School Receptionist and Data Clerk is to serve as the first point of contact for campus visitors and inquiries. This position will also assist the Student Experience and Operations Teams with detailed and varied clerical duties primarily related to school data. Additionally, the approach will support the Goodwill of Central Texas mission and vision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and screen all visitors to maintain a safe and secure campus.
  • Greet and provide campus access to enrolled students, Excel Center staff, and GW staff with approved school access who have visible identification.
  • Provide information to interested parties in a timely manner (application/enrollment, school events, GW programs, general information, etc.).
  • Screen and direct phone calls and visitors to the appropriate party.
  • Process mail (e.g. read, sort, and distribute incoming mail, direct all outgoing mail).
  • Assist the Student Experience Team with tasks primarily related to new student orientation (assisting with school applications, creating badges and photocopying documents).
  • Assist the Operations Team with a variety of data entry tasks related to student data (including attendance corrections, testing history, PEIMS data, at-risk, special programs, etc.).
  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of files relating to students and student data.
  • Perform routine typing and clerical tasks.
  • Supervise student aides as needed.
  • Provide work-related information in a timely manner to other employees, supervisors, volunteers, and when appropriate, visitors and students.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist school team with outreach efforts and community integration events throughout the school year (periodically at nights and on weekends)
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
  • Attends meetings as scheduled.
  • Collaborate with Student Experience and Operations team to address student success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products, Internet, and information management databases.
  • Must be able to understand work instructions in English.
  • Must have working knowledge of computer programs and accessing internet applications such as Student Information Systems, Microsoft Products, Google Applications (Gmail), Excel, Microsoft Word, and Internet Explorer.
  • Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated willing to be a team player.
  • Must be adaptable to shifting priorities while maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Must have the ability to embrace change positively and manage their workload independently.
  • Must possess the essential mindset that all students can achieve at high levels.
  • Detail-oriented, passion for accuracy.
  • Must possess understanding of marginalization and how it impacts those Goodwill serves and employs.
  • Exhibit respect for diversity of thought and have experience to advance it in teams/organization.
  • Must demonstrate a maturity of practice using the 7 pillars and principals of servant leadership.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and complete fingerprinting requirement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Arabic or other languages.
  • Experience working with high school students in urban, non-traditional, and/or adult education setting.
  • Some college.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Base $19/Hr depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
