Are you looking for a great place to work with paid time off, flexibility in scheduling, and a great mission? Goodwill of the Heartland is the place for you! We are looking to hire a Part-time (Weekends Only) Retail Service Specialist for our Cedar Rapids West Store!

The Retail Service Specialist provides excellent customer service to everyone they encounter - Other Goodwill team members, customers, and donors. This position is active and has a variety of responsibilities, so the day goes quickly for our retail team. Our associates will assist customers at checkout with sales, price and stock merchandise, process donations to meet production goals for the sales floor or our warehouse and assist with keeping the store clean and organized.

Position Requirements:

  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, though the average weight of donation processing is 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, push, pull, and stand.
  • Retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • Successful completion of the background screening (sex offender registry)

The Retail Service Specialist position has a starting wage of $14.19 per hour, plus incentive pay based on the store's performance. This position has scheduled hours ranging from 10 to 16 per week, exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays. Shift lengths may alternate between 5 hours and 8 hours each day and will be based on store needs. Saturday shifts will either be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm or 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, and Sunday shifts from 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm or 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Candidates must be available to work either shift on both days, every weekend.
