Job Description: Part-Time Bookkeeper

Company Overview: Mokulua Solar is a leading solar energy provider based in Kailua, Hawaii, committed to delivering sustainable energy solutions to our community. We specialize in designing, installing, and maintaining solar power systems for residential and commercial properties across Hawaii.

Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and supporting month-end close processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Prepare and send client invoices, and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
• Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Handle payroll tasks such as processing timesheets and issuing payments.
• Assist with tax filings and compliance requirements.
• Monitor and maintain inventory records.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience (2+ years) as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
• Proficient in accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations is a plus.
• Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry is desirable but not required.

Work Schedule and Compensation:

• This is a part-time position, approximately 20-25 hours per week, with flexible hours.
• Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
