The New York Mental Health Group is a private practice located in downtown Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Long Island. We provide assessment and therapeutic services to adults (males and females) who present with various mental health issues and are involved in all levels of the Criminal Justice System.

We are currently seeking skilled and compassionate psychotherapists to join our team. These are consulting and fee for service positions. While hours are flexible, a minimum of ten hours per week is required. Therapy sessions are conducted via Telehealth (i.e., remotely) and in-person.

Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field

- Valid/Active NYS licensure as a Psychotherapist or eligibility for licensure

- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and demonstrate cultural sensitivity

- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

- Spanish Speaking a plus

Responsibilities:

- Conduct individual therapy sessions with clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

- Assess clients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans

- Maintain current progress notes

- Complete monthly treatment reports

- Complete discharge summaries

- Ensure all client documentation is completed in a timely manner and client files are up to date

- Communicate with Referral Agency
