Workforce Solutions Borderplex is one of 28 public workforce development boards in Texas serving the six-county Borderplex region.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

This role supports the Economic Development Specialist by delivering strong administrative support for a Survey Project. Your responsibilities will include organizing schedules, managing documents, generating reports, and maintaining files. Additionally, you'll provide assistance for both in-person and virtual meetings. This position requires exceptional multitasking skills, independence with guidance, a tactful and diplomatic demeanor, and a proactive and fast-paced work ethic.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Depending on organizational needs, may:
  • Create, organize, and maintain calendars, documents, reports, and files.
  • Let your creativity flow by producing flyers, posts, and emails convincing people to take our surveys.
  • Track how we issue gift cards to survey respondents.
  • Collaborate with agencies that give us access to their space.
  • Collect surveys:
  • In-person with an iPad
  • On a mic in our studio
  • Uploaded videos or audio files to our website
  • Or other methods we haven’t yet invented
  • Make small purchases like supplies and materials.


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Some college or associate degree is preferred. Two or more years of experience in a public-facing role is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Exceptional attention to detail, i.e., the little things.
  • Excellent communication & people skills – eye contact, not shy but not bombastic, and listening intently.
  • Be organized, be on time, and manage your to-do list.
  • Bring your best self & suggest ideas. Plan ahead and be efficient with your time.
  • Take initiative & ownership. Don’t wait to be asked to do something. If it needs to get done, get started.
  • Legit skills in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe, Zoom, Teams, & Google Suite.
  • Multi-task. If that means sticky notes everywhere, or color coding your calendar, or a low-tech journal – whatever it takes to get the work done.
  • Adapt. [Pivot! Pivot!]
  • Quality work – double check spelling, grammar, math formulas, verify accuracy.
  • Put customers first – they are the reason for the work, go out of your way to be helpful and make it easy for them to make it easy for you.

Additional Notes

Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet requirements to be included as an authorized driver on the Workforce Solutions Borderplex Commercial Package Policy as stipulated by the insurance carrier. Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks.
