What We Do: Smile for a Lifetime (S4L) is a national nonprofit that provides orthodontic care to disadvantaged children who usually cannot afford treatment. Smile for a Lifetime does not charge for the treatment—participating orthodontists and manufacturing companies provide FREE services.

Job Purpose: Recruit volunteer orthodontists and provide support and a true partnership in which the family, the orthodontist, and S4L all work together to help children receive the smiles they deserve! Must be able to travel and comfortable on the phone.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

The Provider Specialist plays a vital role in our organization by sourcing, qualifying, and attracting volunteer orthodontists (providers). Building strong partnerships with the orthodontic community is essential for success in this position. This position will screen applicants and match them with volunteer providers.

As a Program Coordinator, you will work directly with orthodontic practices through phone and Zoom meetings. This role involves attending orthodontic conferences several times a year. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to interact positively and impactfully with patients and orthodontic practices.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Develop optimal recruiting strategies and coordinate these with the executive director.
  • 50% recruiting volunteers. Must have strong interpersonal skills over the phone.
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring recruiting metrics, analyze data, and build upon talent acquisition analytics to provide the insight to improve the recruiting marketing strategy continuously.
  • Advise the director on all recruiting issues.
  • Work hand-in-hand with current providers.
  • Attend orthodontic conferences across the US in an attempt to recruit providers.
  • Represent our company at trade fairs, events, and on the web.
  • Attract new providers to our company by proactively approaching candidates.
  • From the initial contact to the conclusion of joining the program, you will accompany the provider through the entire program process.
  • Utilize job boards, networks, forums, blogs, and social media to find qualified candidates. Assist with preliminary screening of candidates.
  • Answer daily general inquiries from families applying for services.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the software S4L uses to maintain its program.
  • Provide excellent customer service through professional interactions and representation of the S4L program to volunteer orthodontists, dental professionals, and families served.
  • Maintain a database of applicants and providers.
  • Assist with questions and concerns from providers and affiliates. Assist with provider startup, problem-solving, obtaining referrals and selection process, etc.
  • Performs other duties as required to assist the Executive Director.
  • Ability to travel within the US and Canada.

Experience:

  • Must have professional phone skills.
  • 1 year of community outreach, social service, or related field.
  • AA or Bachelors in Psychology, Sociology, Social Services or a related field preferred but not required. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the education and experience requirements below.
  • Skill in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access, desktop publishing, online business platforms and complex database and software systems.
  • Skill in social media and content development.

Work Conditions

The position requires working with the Director from her home, office, and conferences.

Job Type: Part-time to Full-time (20 to 30 hours per week)

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
