Position Overview

WSOC TV Charlotte is looking for a Part-Time Production Assistant who will be integral in all phases of commercial and studio production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operating cameras and teleprompter on newscasts
• Acting as floor director during live broadcasts and taped segments while operating studio cameras
• Ensuring lights and robotic cameras are operational and replacing batteries in anchor mics and IFBs. Making sure the studio is ready.
• Reviewing upcoming newscast rundowns for camera blocking and working with directors to sort out any issues
• Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Required to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Other duties assigned as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Ideal candidate would be working toward a degree in related field
• Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
• College degree
• Experience with on site production
• Attention to detail is a must in the execution of each of the roles as one of the final gatekeepers before our product is transmitted over the air
• Willingness to learn new and challenging roles
