Overview
This position exists to support Pharmacy Services' managers and directors in planning and coordinating various departmental functions to deliver consistent quality and reliability for significant business operations. Maintains alignment to regulations and accreditation standards as applicable, documents decisions made in quality meetings, and follows up on action plans to ensure perpetual compliance. Interprets standards, rules, and regulations and translates these into operational activities and creates standard work where necessary. May also audit these activities and will intervene if variation is not supported by the standards. Ensures all members of the team are trained appropriately which may include leading training sessions if a site does not have a specific expert or trainer identified. Collaborates across departments with various levels of IU Health to maintain accreditation, training, and credentialing. Provides subject matter expertise, functional guidance, support, and training to pharmacy team members across the system. Utilizes LEAN principles to ensure efficient operations and responsible for ensuring all processes align with regulatory and accreditation requirements by consulting with specific regulatory content experts (Ambulatory, Inpatient, Retail, Homecare), the State Board of Pharmacy, and accrediting bodies. Rectifies issues that arise with accreditation by documenting conversations and developing action plans with site and system leadership. Manages and creates tools for internal processing of various components of pharmacy audit reports including analyzing and monitoring claims against fraud, waste, and abuse. Investigates, reviews, and analyzes claims and other data while applying knowledge of pharmacy policy and practice. Exercises independent judgement and leads efforts to implement changes as needed to support business functions, regulatory compliance, and development of Standard Work.
