Join our team in shaping happy beginnings for little ones as a Playgroup Assistant in the Early Intervention program at Behavioral Health Network!


The Playgroup Assistant supports the Early Intervention Program through child supervision, engagement and attending to childcare needs during playgroups.

Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Early Intervention program with the following:


  • Providing supervision and engagement of enrolled children as directed by the play group leader.
  • Assisting in set up and cleanup before and after groups.
  • Maintaining clean orderly space using EEC cleaning and sanitizing standards.
  • Changing diapers of children in playgroup.
  • Reading to children
  • Playing with children encourages sharing and cooperative play.
  • Assisting children on and off of play equipment
  • Preparing simple snacks

The Early Intervention Program at Behavioral Health Network serves children between the ages of birth and three years of age for whom there are developmental concerns due to identified disabilities, or whose typical development is at risk due to certain birth or environmental factors.


Behavioral Health Network is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children, adults, families and communities in Western Massachusetts since 1938. BHN provides comprehensive, outcome-driven behavioral health care. We are dedicated to offering high quality, affordable and culturally appropriate care to people of all ages and income levels in our constituent communities.


What are we looking for in a Playgroup Assistant?


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-year Early Childhood Experience preferred.
  • 1-year Behavior Management Experience preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certified. Will provide training.
  • Bilingual preferred
