Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Pilates Instructor to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of our clients through Pilates. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and leading a range of Pilates classes that cater to all levels of ability, from beginner to advanced, ensuring safe practice and promoting the benefits of Pilates health.
Responsibilities:
- Design, plan, and lead Pilates sessions for individuals or groups.
- Adjust and adapt sessions according to participants’ needs and capabilities.
- Instruct clients on proper equipment use, including reformers, mats, and other apparatus, ensuring safety at all times.
- Monitor clients’ progress and adapt programs as necessary.
- Educate clients on health and wellness benefits of Pilates, encouraging consistent practice and a healthy lifestyle.
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward clients at all times.
- Assist in promote and market classes to maximize attendance (social media skills could be beneficial).
- Ensure that the practice space is clean and equipment is maintained before and after sessions.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in Pilates techniques and integrate new ideas into session plans.
- Provide personalized attention and professional instruction that aligns with each client’s fitness goals and health needs.
Qualifications:
- Certification from a recognized Pilates training program (comprehensive training including Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrels preferred).
- Experience teaching various forms of Pilates (Classical, Contemporary, Mat, Reformer, etc.).
- Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the specific benefits of Pilates.
- CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate exercises and use equipment effectively.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
Skills:
- Strong instructional and classroom management abilities.
- High level of physical fitness, flexibility, and stamina.
- Proficient in tailoring Pilates sessions to meet individual client needs.
- Excellent observational skills to identify clients' strengths and areas for improvement.
- Ability to motivate and inspire clients.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Work Environment:
- The role involves working in a studio.
- Requires physical mobility and the ability to demonstrate and assist with exercises.
- Flexible work hours, including potentially early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
