The Anderson Piano Academy is an innovative school that brings together a traditional musical foundation with modern technology to meet the needs of children of today. We are looking to bring on a teacher who is excited to share their passion for music with young learners. This is a premier program, and we want a teacher who will bring their own personality to our core curriculum in a supportive environment.
Our school has a long wait list. This part-time position has the opportunity to expand.
Responsibilities:
- Provide piano lessons to students ages 5 and up
- Be responsive and flexible to student needs
- Be respectful to all parties and create a healthy learning environment
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
Experience:
- Music degree with background in music education, piano performance is preferred
- Experience working with children (teaching piano, camps, tutoring etc)
- Early advanced minimum piano proficiency
- Patience and ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of each student
Vision:
- Students build an excellent foundation of technique, music literacy, practice skills and interpretation
- Students will all be taught a common core of music vocabulary, but teachers will be given latitude of how to work with each student independently
- This school aims to create a collaborative teaching experience. Teachers are encouraged to share their successes and challenges and will be met with support

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
