Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Aide, with hours ranging from 30 to 33 per week, plays a vital role in supporting the operations of our physical therapy department and ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients. Responsibilities include laundering linens, maintaining cleanliness in treatment areas, managing inventory, assisting with modalities preparation, supporting therapists during treatments, and performing light office duties. The individual is expected to uphold Stevens Point Orthopedics’ mission, policies, and initiatives while always prioritizing patient confidentiality.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for laundering and folding linens, including towels, pillowcases, shirts, and shorts, to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Clean and sanitize treatment rooms and gym tables after each patient use to uphold a clean and safe environment for therapy sessions.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of equipment and supplies in treatment rooms. Keep rooms stocked with adequate supplies to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Regularly check and replenish the supply closet with extra supplies as needed to prevent shortages and ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Assist in preparing treatment modalities, including setting up and operating equipment such as the Game Ready Ice Machine. Help patients with putting on or removing modalities as instructed by therapists.
  • Support Physical Therapists during treatment sessions by assisting as needed.
  • Perform light administrative tasks such assisting the front desk when needed, filing documents, and maintaining patient records to support the efficient functioning of the clinic.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Some experience working in a medical office setting is preferred.

  • Physical stamina and ability to move items as required.
  • Willingness to undergo on-the-job training and learn new tasks as necessary.
  • Basic clerical, computer, and office automation skills.
  • Cheerful and pleasant communication style coupled with strong interpersonal skills, enabling thriving in a team environment.
  • Strong organization skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
