Overview:
Under the supervision of an RN provides direct patient care. Applies knowledge and skills by focusing on patient’s personal care, activity, nutrition, hydration, elimination, and prevention of health complications. Offers exceptional service and support to patients and their families during times of physical and cognitive ill health. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services, improved patient care, and a high level of satisfaction from patients and families.

Responsibilities:
  • PCT performs patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
  • Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
  • Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.
Qualifications:

Not required to perform the essential functions of the position.


Education:

Eighteen (18) years of age or older
75 Hour Basic CNA Course


Experience:

Previous healthcare experience

License(s)/Certification(s):

Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
Multicultural sensitivity.
Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.
Customer/patient focused.

Other:

Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
