The Patient Access Service (PAS) Representative is responsible for greeting patients at various JMH facilities/patient services entry points to coordinate registration, authorization, and information processing requirements associated with the patient visit and services needed. The PAS Representative gathers appropriate demographic, clinical and financial information in a timely and accurate manner to ensure the patient's smooth interaction with John Muir's various healthcare services. The person in this role works under the direct supervision of the department manager.

• High School Graduate or Equivalent Required

• 2 years Medical Office Preferred
• 2 years Insurance Plan Payment Practices and Billing Requirements Preferred
• 2 years Information Technology - Electronic Health Records Preferred

• Good spelling and Grammar skills.
• Keyboard by touch.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills and be able to respond to a variety of circumstances with compassion, patience and flexibility, sometimes under difficult circumstances.
• Able to work in an established time frame with attention to detail and accuracy
