Description:
Job Summary: Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly services to customers, involving receipt and payment of cash, and to recognize customers’ needs with suggestions appropriate to Bank’s services; Remembers to always follow the established policies and procedures for this area, in accordance with the Bank and the supervisor’s direction; Must demonstrate commitment, dependability and respect for other employees with regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed upon schedule of availability.
Primary Duties:
- Accepts checks for cashing, receives checking and related accounts; accepts deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, makes change, and issues receipts.
- Receives savings deposits, pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signature; redeems U.S. Savings Bonds.
- Receives and processes loan payments.
- Processes credit card cash advances.
- Performs various balancing functions, including ATM when instructed.
- Processes night deposits and mail-in deposits.
- Sells cashier’s checks and other Bank services.
- Responds to customers’ inquiries as appropriate.
- Maintains proper cash level in drawers, keeps cash secure, and maintains a high level of safety for the Bank.
- Services ATM according to schedule or need.
- Accepts “stop payment” requests and address changes, distributing to the proper personnel for processing.
- Answers phone as needed
- Responsible for balancing cash drawer each day and providing Head Teller with completed balance sheet.
- Maintains confidentiality of bank and customer information.
- Performs other tasks requested by supervisor as they relate to the Bank and its functions.
Requirements:
Skills Required: Must be able to perform all over-the counter customer services; Exercise accuracy, alertness, courtesy, tact, patience, and good judgment while maintaining confidentiality of the Bank’s records and customer transactions; Possess excellent customer service and cash handling skills; Strong communication and mathematical skills.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to adequately perform the duties listed above.
- Customer service experience of 2 years desired.
- Cash handling experience desired.
- Teller experience of 1 year desired.
