QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Recovery Support Services (CRSS) credential preferred, not required
• Must be willing to obtain CRSS certificate within 1 year (full time) or 2 years (part time) of employment.
• Candidates must have life experience as a consumer of mental health services and should be willing to share their recovery experience to inspire hope and change in others
• Willingness to train in crisis intervention or prior experience
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Computer skills, including teleservices (i.e. ZOOM, Webex)
• Bilingual English/Spanish applicants encouraged to apply, not required

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet and welcome those attending the Living Room
• Provide other duties as assigned by the Living Room Supervisors
• Adhere to federal and state regulations and all Agency policies and procedures
• Complete documentation on Agency EMR
• Living Room Hours are 24/7. This shift seeks employees for the 9pm-9am shift. Any employee training will be conducted during the daytime before moving to an overnight shift.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Provide Recovery Support, Advocacy, and Mentorship to Living Room guests
• Facilitate the accurate reporting of guest attendance
• Provide crisis de-escalation to guests in crisis
• Help to provide refreshments and coffee for LLR guests
• Help to engage guests/customers who appear to be isolated
• Be aware of group tensions. Diffuse tensions as appropriate or ask for support from other staff
• Discuss any areas of conflict with LR Supervisor and LR Coordinator
• Facilitate daily clean up and sanitizing
• Provide ideas and feedback to help LR programs grow and adapt to guest/customer and community needs
• Attend team meetings and required trainings
• Work and contribute to the development and maintenance of a consumer-driven Living Room
• Interact with staff and participants, fostering the development of a warm and friendly atmosphere dedicated to recovery and resilience
• Other duties as assigned

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Requires safely lifting or moving up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis, for example movement of materials, files, or texts.
• Regular requirement to stand, and sit for long periods of time, with some walking, occasional bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling.
• Noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
• Driving around clients is required. Adequate car insurance needed.
