• Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
• Part-time 30 hours per week
• Flexible schedule, working 6 hour days

• $17.75 p/h

Duties:

• The Lab Tech provides a variety of high-level lab support functions to include, but are not limited to: logging and follow-up on samples, perform accessioning/login, and initial sample processing (preservation, splitting, centrifugation) for the clinical and microbiology sections
• Receives and accessions specimens/samples and enters sample data into the laboratory database
• Prints and prepares client reports and invoices for delivery
• Prepares and calibrates laboratory equipment and instruments for operation
• Monitors and records facility quality control data
• Performs minor repair and maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Ensures glassware and equipment are washed and sterilized
• Receives ordered supplies, completes order documentation, and notifies appropriate staff of receipt
• Makes laboratory media and reagents and performs required quality assurance testing
• Processes bio-waste per established procedure (i.e. autoclaving)
• Generate templates, mail and or fax reports, generate invoices for tests, and serve as a back-up and support for other areas in the lab
• Follow-up, data entry, and verification of codes listed on sample submission forms entered in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Experience performing standardized laboratory tests according to prescribed procedures, calculating and recording test results, and maintaining a clean, sterile, and safe laboratory environment
• Good knowledge of laboratory terminology, equipment, materials, procedures, and the fundamental laboratory methods relating to chemistry or biology
• Education in chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution is highly desired
• Strong attention to detail, exceptional record-keeping skills, and excellent communication skills are needed
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
