Nature of Work:
The health assistant oversees the activities of a school’s health room under the direct supervision of the school nurse (RN) and general supervision of a program supervisor. These duties include first aid and administration of medication as delegated by the school nurse and a variety of health tasks and clerical work to assist students with health-related needs.
Nature of the work may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, positioning, transferring, and aiding in bodily functions as needed. Based on assignment, other specialized duties may be assigned and work hours may fluctuate and go beyond regular school hours to meet the medical needs of the students and the program.

License or Certification:
Candidates must successfully complete a Board approved Certified Nursing Assistant/Certified Medication Technician training program provided by the Anne Arundel County Department of Health. Driver’s License Required.
