Gallery Monitor

Part-Time/Hourly - $15 per hour depending on experience

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a part-time position not to exceed 29.5 hours per week reporting directly to the Sun City Anthem Community Standards Manager. This position makes the first impression for all members and guests of the facilities. The Gallery Monitor will be a resource for information within the Sun City Anthem (SCA) main facility.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: General duties ensuring that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of SCA. Gallery Monitors are actively stationed at the Anthem Center gallery including front desk and main hallways and are responsible for being aware of community events including BOD, committee, and club activities within the association.

The position requires a flexible working schedule that may vary depending on business needs. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scanning member activity cards, logging their guests as they come into the facility, answering phones, and directing guests accordingly to and from SCA facilities, and professionally reminding members of SCA rules and regulations.


SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS


  • Skilled in maintaining a friendly, helpful, efficient, professional, positive, and flexible demeanor while interacting with members in potentially sensitive situations.
  • Ability to remain calm and level-headed in emergency situations.
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Must have excellent communication skills. Communication may be with any of the following: homeowners, relatives and/or friends of homeowners, tenants of homeowners, real estate professionals, general public, SCA staff, SCA Managers, SCA Board of Directors, contractors, and law enforcement personnel.
  • Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that communication may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
  • Must have basic working knowledge of computer and other office equipment, i.e., fax, multi-lined phone system, two-way radio transceiver, laptops, camera, and scanner/copier.
  • Ability to walk indoors, outdoors and stand without assistance for periods of time that vary.
  • Ability to stand to greet members and guests for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented and have good reasoning skills.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of computer software programs. At a minimum, must be skilled in the use of Microsoft products, internet search functions, and e-mail.
  • Basic math skills.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Essential responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Ability to adapt to changing rules and regulations with a positive demeanor.
  • Arrive on time for assigned shifts and complete smooth transition of shift changes.
  • Ability to work any shifts according to business demands and needs.
  • Maintain CPR/AED certification and be physically and mentally prepared to quickly respond to emergency situations throughout the facility.
  • Ability to write comprehensive incident reports when needed.
  • Knowledge of SCA departments and staff and their functions.
  • Check in all members and guests in accordance with the Association’s rules and regulations.
  • Utilize computer/scanner system to scan members and their guests into the facility.
  • Adjust gallery equipment as needed such as shades, TV, etc.
  • Assist with keeping the gallery area neat and tidy. Duties include, but are not limited to picking up discarded items, replenishing supplies, and use of sanitizing wipes within the SCA gallery.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by members ensuring member satisfaction.
  • Report all safety concerns to the Community Standards team.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times, ensuring excellent internal and external customer service, refraining from any negative or derogatory comments regarding fellow employees, members, guests, social media postings or the SCA community and its Board of Directors.
  • Work without constant direct supervision, using practicality while remaining flexible to both stay at assigned post for extended periods of time and actively walk the center as necessary.
  • Assist management with other tasks or projects as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have manual dexterity required for use of typing, writing, answering phones and other basic center operations.
  • Ability to utilize necessary equipment such as computer, telephone, POS system, copier, printer, scanner, and fax.
  • Ability to walk inside, outside, and up and downstairs without assistance.
  • Ability to remain in stationary position for varied lengths of time.
  • Required to wear monitor uniforms, shirts, and jackets.
  • Agility and physical capability to quickly respond to emergency situations throughout the facility.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull, lift, carry and move objects that can weigh up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to exchange and receive information through oral communications.
  • Ability to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing with or without corrective lenses.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is mostly performed indoors, with periodic checks of outdoor areas required for each shift. Possible short-term exposure to direct sunlight and high temperatures can occur during summer months.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma
  • Experience and skill in the use of computer software.
  • Experience and skill in detailed and comprehensive writing and composition.
  • Experience and skill in professionally dealing with people during difficult situations.
  • Prior customer service experience a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a 55+ community preferred.


SAFETY


Gallery Monitors are required to comply with established safe work practices and attend all safety-related training provided or made available by the Association.
