DELIVERY DRIVER & PRODUCT HANDLER (NON-CDL)

Vermont Farm Table is seeking a motivated individual that wants to be part of a company that cares about its employees, products, and clients.

If you have experience driving or moving furniture, we want to talk to you. Don't have experience? We are willing and able to train the right candidate. ** A CDL is not required for this job **

We make solid wood tables in our Bristol, VT woodshop and deliver them throughout New England and New York. You would be part of a team of two delivering to private residences, offices, and warehouses. Residential deliveries are 'white glove' and require a high level of professionalism. On occasion we offer installation services for our small scale commercial jobs.

We operate a 24' box truck with liftgate and a 12' van. Weekly routes will take you to NJ and/or MA. Residential deliveries vary week to week, thus scheduling flexibility is imperative. On occasion overnight trips will be required; VFT covers all overnight expenses including; a food stipend and individual hotel rooms.

Weekly delivery schedules are provided Thursdays for the following week. VFT does not operate deliveries on the weekends. Given our demand for flexible availability we are mindful and accommodating of our teams usable time outside of work with VFT.

Starting pay: $21.00/hr.
Applicants accepted for the position will receive a $500.00 sign-on bonus after the first 90 days of employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Safely operate commercial vehicles
• Handle furniture with exceptional care
• Efficiently load furniture; pad and protect with blankets and secure to prevent damage in transit
• Safely unload furniture
• Carryout residential 'white glove' delivery with a high level of professionalism
• Capture and upload product photos when loading/delivering
• Carryout basic vehicle safety inspections
• Communicate with clients and warehouse by phone and/or text (phone provided)

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS include the following:

• Ability to pass a background check
• Satisfactory driving record
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card (if hired VFT will cover the expense)
• Ability to lift furniture weighing up to 100lbs
• Clear and concise communication
• Friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to work and get along with others well
• Basic knowledge of hand-tools is preferred but not required
• Experience driving or moving furniture is preferred but not required
