THE JOB:
As the order taker for in-room dining, you will be responsible for receiving guest calls, accurately inputting orders into the POS system, and coordinating timely delivery with the serving staff. You will familiarize yourself with the food and alcohol menus to ensure attentiveness to guest allergens and make knowledgeable recommendations. Additionally, you will manage cash and credit transactions, maintain an organized service area, and uphold high standards of sanitation and safety. Your role also includes addressing guest concerns and performing other duties as requested by management to ensure an exceptional in-room dining experience.

THE STARTING RATE: $21.272

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Knowledgeable of entire menu, proper food presentation, and wine selection for up-selling of items

  • Take and place order into POS system, distribute order to serving staff, send information to cook station, and ensure timely pickup of order

  • Advise owner and guest of delivery time and ensure order is delivered to suite in a timely fashion

  • Distribute orders to servers evenly and efficiently, log service runs, maintain a cash bank and ensure funds are correctly accounted for

  • Ensure supplies are available in the service area

  • Maintain an organized, clean and presentable environment; maintain constant awareness of sanitation, safety and accident prevention


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Prior customer service experience in a high-volume setting

  • Prior food and beverage, call center, or similar experience

  • Experience in a hotel/resort and/or luxury resort environment.

  • Describes themselves as detail-oriented, motivated, and a quick learner

  • Demonstrates pride in their work

  • Knowledgeable of Forbes and AAA standards of service.

  • Knowledgeable of computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems

  • Dedicated to providing the highest level of guest service

  • Flexibility to work various hours/shifts as needed per on call requirements including weekends, holidays, mornings, afternoons, and overnight shifts
