This position is part of the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program.

• Start date: ASAP Pending Training & Credentialing
• Schedule: Part-Time, 3 days a week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
• C&P exams (Compensation and Pension Exams)
• Gain valuable professional experience and help make a difference in the lives of America’s heroes

Your Daily Responsibilities:

• Review pertinent medical history documentation and perform one-time, non-treatment vision compensation and pension exams for Veterans
• Capture responses during exam through a web-based examination form; all documentation is completed electronically
• Visual Field Testing may be required and all equipment will be supplied
• Exams are a comprehensive eye exam to evaluate for loss of vision, glaucoma, injury to eye, etc.; no refractive services

What You’ll Need to Qualify for this Role:

• Must be an actively licensed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, have good interpersonal skills and willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing situations
• Must possess basic computer skills and be able to complete online documentation
• Compensation exam or VA experience is preferred, but not required
• Current CPR and BLS
• New grads welcome
