The NewMexiCorps program is focused on improving educational outcomes for students attending public charter school in Albuquerque and Los Lunas, New Mexico. As a NewMexiCorps member, you'll make a meaningful impact in your community while gaining valuable skills and experience. Academic Enrichment Instructors will be provided support to students during the regular school day, after school, and/or during summer to enhance programmatic offerings and support student engagement during interim sessions. Host site locations include the following public charter schools and non-profit community organizations: • Albuquerque Sign Language Academy • School of Dreams Academy • South Valley Prep • Mark Armijo Academy • North Fourth Arts Center
Member Duties : Lead students in one-to-one or small groups to complete classwork or homework and provide additional educational instruction through activities including: • Book Club, Board Game Club, LEGO Club, etc. • Putting on a skit or play • Quick engaging science labs • Mindful movement, meditation, reading outload • Math Practice Worksheets, activities • Classroom Plant Projects • Guidance Dance Games • Classroom Fitness Activities with Health and Nutrition focus • Art Projects • Simple Healthy Cooking and Snacks • Career exploration for younger students • Emotional regulation activities for students
