Job requirements and expectations
- Welcome patients and visitors, in person and on the telephone
- Take detailed messages to enhance patient care
- Check patients in and out
- Collect co-pays and/or payments required
- Schedule appointments
- Keep reception lobby clean and orderly
- File and send medical records and faxes
- Check and distribute mail
- Obtain imaging and referral prior authorizations
- Follow policy and procedure for patient safety
- Utilize the electronic health record to perform patient related care
- Promote the mission of the organization to provide patient centered and excellent care for our community
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to promote patient wellness
- Participate in work groups to enhance patient outcomes
- Self motivated, curious and willing to learn
- Excitement about the future of healthcare
