The J is seeking enthusiastic individuals who have a passion for working with children and providing a safe and engaging environment for children ages 3 months - 11 years.

The J's Clubhouse has two great options for childcare while parents/guardians workout at The J's Fitness Center. The Little J Clubhouse offers engaging playtime and sensory opportunities for your younger children, ages 3 months up to 5 years. The Big J Clubhouse is a more active area for kids ages 5 to 11 years. Here we introduce them to exercise and active play. We have a two-story slide, rock climbing wall, and Ninja Warrior course! We also have quiet areas for crafts, coloring, board games, or homework.

Schedule

Current need is primarily daytime hours. Will work approximately 15-20 hours/week.

The Clubhouse is open:

• Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm
• Monday - Friday 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
• Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

Responsibilities

• Act as “Lead” during scheduled shift, has authority to delegate tasks to others when the Clubhouse Manager is not on site
• Fill-in and cover Clubhouse Attendant shifts when needed for callouts or other reasons
• Assist the Clubhouse Manager in training and development of new staff
• Manage member check-in for parent/child drop off - greet children and parents, ensure proper check-in and check-out, and communicate appropriate information at check out
• Directly handle parent complaints/scenarios as needed and report all issues to Clubhouse Manager
• Assist Clubhouse Manager to develop ways to improve Clubhouse policies and processes for both staff and members
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and equipment inventory throughout department, notify Clubhouse Manager of any equipment replacement needs
• Engage/Lead children in age-appropriate developmental, sensory, and active play fitness activities
• Follow all policies and programming outlines to ensure safe, age-appropriate activities for all children
• Adhere to all staff guidelines during shift and ensure Clubhouse Attendants are doing the same
• Maintain a positive work environment for staff, children, and parents
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality

• Minimum Age: 16 years
• Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification, or able to certify within 90 days of employment
• Previous experience preferred (working with children in group setting, supervisory)
• Must be able to take direction and delegate responsibilities
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to proactively build and strengthen relationships with members
• Creative, organized, and detail-oriented
