POSITION TITLE: Facilities Custodian
REPORTS TO: Building Supervisor
STATUS: Part-time/nonexempt
PAY/RATE: $18-$21 per hour

PURPOSE:

A Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our high-rise condominium's common areas, ensuring a pleasant living experience for our residents. Works to keep the building functionally and aesthetically intact. The position includes supporting the Newmark Tower Owners Association (NTOA) and the Newmark Building Owners Association (NBOA) by ensuring the building is tidy, clean, and well-maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
  • Cleaning glass, mirrored surfaces, stainless steel, tile, vents, picture frames, and any other surface as determined necessary by General Manager
  • Monitor and clean outside area around building
  • Dusting, including high dusting, fixtures, and furniture
  • Disinfecting sinks, toilets, and walls
  • Restocking toilet paper, garbage bags, and paper towels
  • Emptying trash and separating recycling
  • Check inventory of cleaning supplies; submit written requests for needed supplies monthly to admin staff
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of common areas, including lobbies, hallways, garages, and recreational facilities
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 1 years experience High-rise Facility Custodian/Janitorial
  • Familiar in MS programs, including but not limited to: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams
  • Display effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Demonstrated commitment to exemplary guest service
  • Demonstrate integrity and be detail oriented
  • Excellent problem-solving
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving business needs
  • Must be able to earn and maintain required professional certifications and licenses, as may be required by law if necessary
  • Certified Pool Operator, preferred
  • Have dependable transportation

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and weekends
  • Be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend for entire shift
  • Able to read, interpret, and respond to SDS (MSDS) information
  • Wear PPE when using cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Be able to verbally warn people of their presence to meet safety standards
  • Always project professional appearance
  • Ability to push and/or pull loads 25-125lbs
  • Ability to lift loads weighing upto 25lbs
  • Must be able to carry on back a back pack vacuum cleaner at 15-20lbs forty-five minutes or more
