Job Description

At Arctic Chiropractic, we take pride in creating an upbeat and pleasant work environment where both our team members and patients feel welcomed and supported. Our office is looking for an outgoing, willing, and self-motivated individual to add to our team.

When taking on the role of verifying insurance at our office, you are becoming an integral member of our team in informing the patients and our providers of proper insurance benefits and coverage. Whether it be a conversation with the insurance company, one of our patients, or a staff member, it is highly important to speak professionally and respectfully, no matter the situation.

This part time role is primarily for insurance verification, but it is also for working up at the front desk from time to time. The schedule for this position a minimum of 20 hours week, but the ability of working until 6pm and being able to work Saturdays from 10am to 2pm is a must.

Responsibilities include:

  • Verifying health insurance
  • Informing patients of their coverage and responsibilities of payment for services
  • Calling insurance companies and balancing multiple phone calls
  • Understanding insurance basics and the ability to explain insurance coverage
  • Collecting payments in person or over the phone
  • Discussing balances with patients respectfully in person or over the phone
  • Greeting and checking in patients with a positive attitude
  • Answering multiple phone lines politely and professionally
  • Scheduling appointments for our patients
  • Being dependable, showing up to work as scheduled, and communicating effectively with management about any planned or unplanned events
  • Coordinating and communicating schedules with coworkers
  • Processing multiple types of faxes and referrals
  • Setting up patients on equipment with provider direction
  • Assisting providers in demonstrating exercises for patients
  • Inputting sensitive patient information and documentation
  • Calling other offices or providers for clarification on confidential matters
  • Cleaning around the office and doing laundry
  • Managing multiple calendars for staff

  • Willingness to grow with our team
  • Must be able to work at least 20 hours throughout the week, until 6pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm

Experience:

  • Customer service experience (required)
  • Medical billing (preferred but not required)
  • Previous insurance verification experience (preferred but not required)
  • Previous front desk experience (preferred but not required)

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
