Position: Human Resources/Recruiter/Care Coordinator

HOMEWELL CARE SERVICES, Servicing NW Indiana, is looking for a Part-Time Human Resources/Recruiter/Care Coordinator in our Valparaiso office. Join a team where you matter, where you can be a part of the family.

SUMMARY:

The Human Resources/Recruiter/Care Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a pool of eligible caregivers needed to meet the agency’s growing client census and service hours. This is accomplished through continual recruiting, hiring and orientating of qualified caregivers while simultaneously being the “Caregiver of the Caregivers” to promote engagement and employee retention. In addition, this position helps to manage the staffing of client service hours, ensuring shifts are staffed fully, handling call-offs, after hours phone as needed, and other requirements of the office as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree preferred (2 years+); 2 years+ experience in lieu of degree
  • Associate's Degree preferred in Human Resources, Recruiting, Communications
  • Experience in the Home Care field or as a professional caregiver
  • Two years of related experience in HR and/or scheduling; healthcare industry a plus
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, telephone etiquette, and be able to interact effectively with persons from diverse backgrounds with a strong customer service orientation
  • Must possess exceptional organizational skills and follow-through
  • Comfortable utilizing various technologies and computer programs
  • Able to exercise initiative, problem solve and apply sound judgment
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple demands simultaneously
  • Must present a positive and professional business image
  • Must work as a team player with internal staff.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Current tuberculosis test or willing to obtain one prior to employment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resources/Recruiting

  • Continually recruit caregivers to maintain pool of eligible and available caregivers
  • Manage interview calendar and applications/employment inquiries
  • Conduct telephone and in-persons interviews with potential candidates; provide hiring recommendations to Management and/or Owner/s
  • Schedule qualified candidates for interviews and orientation
  • Manage reference verification
  • Provide a comprehensive orientation for all newly hired caregivers
  • Collect new hire paperwork and required documentation
  • Create personnel files; ensure caregiver information is accurately loaded into the agency’s system
  • Complete onboarding paperwork
  • Assign training courses as necessary; monitor for completion
  • Ensure required background checks are completed
  • Monitor upcoming document expirations and required continuing education/performance evaluations; ensure needed items are completed by and/or collected from caregivers by their required due date
  • Conduct caregiver performance evaluations, disciplinary meetings and employee terminations with input and feedback from Management and/or Owner/s
  • Prepare and file reports on caregivers as necessary
  • Audit and maintain caregiver personnel files in accordance with regulatory requirements and agency policy

Care Coordination

  • Assist in scheduling client shifts with eligible caregivers working cohesively with Care Manager to ensure continuity of care and proper shift fulfillment
  • Communicate new assignments and/or scheduling changes to caregivers and clients.
  • Maintain accurate schedules for clients
  • Maintain accurate contact information and availability for caregivers
  • Regular documentation of logs, activities, events, etc.
  • Regularly review completed shift logs
  • Monitor missed/late shift clock-ins
  • Monitor caregiver scheduled hours
  • Promptly notify Care Manager and/or Owner/s of staffing changes, scheduling issues and reported client issues
  • Serve as the agency liaison for caregivers, promoting a culture of engagement
  • Regularly communicate with eligible caregivers to confirm availability, desired hours, contact information and satisfaction with the agency, with increased focus during the first 90 days of employment.
  • Conduct ongoing communication with caregivers.
  • Share in the responsibility for after-hours/weekend phone as directed by Management.
  • Effective communication with client/family
  • Assist with Supervisory in-home visits

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a part-time position that may develop into a full-time position as deemed necessary by Owner/s/Management.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
