Job Description

The Hyatt Place Biloxi is looking for a professional, friendly team player to fulfill the houseman position in our housekeeping department. The right candidate will be energetic, positive, and ready to serve our guests! Below is a sample of some of the duties required:

MUST BE ABLE TO MULTI-TASK SUCCESSFULLY.

For your safety and for the safety of our guests you will be required to wear PPE throughout the duration of your shift. This includes a face covering that will be over you nose/mouth.

**Perform special tasks assigned by managers such as general cleaning of public areas, offices, back of house, parking lot, etc. We want our guests to feel like part of the family, which means we need you to be down-to-earth by being straightforward and natural, be thoughtful by being perceptive, caring and accommodating, be sociable by being upbeat, involved and friendly, and be reliable by being professional, a team player and resourceful.

  • Support room attendants in maintaining correct supplies and linen pars in closets and delivery of those supplies to the floors if needed.
  • Strip all dirty linen from guest rooms for the attendants.
  • Spot-clean and shampoo all guest hallways, as needed
  • Mop both sets of stairwells weekly
  • Covers all floors assigned and ensures that the hotel cleanliness standards are maintained in all areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain the general daily upkeep of assigned floors, to include vacuuming the hallways, mopping the linen closets, wiping down ice machines, and mopping the floors, remove all trash from cart rooms daily.
  • Recognize and report all missing, damaged, or sub-standard furniture, fixtures and equipment.
  • Responsible for furniture moving, wall washing, drape cleaning, delivery of any guest requests, shampooing, buffing, spot cleaning, interior and exterior window washing..
  • Replace all guest closets with clean linen and terry daily.
  • Place all garbage compacted and collected in garbage bin outside to be removed by waste management company.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of all service elevators including shampooing of any carpets, high dusting and mirror cleaning. Polish and wipe down all metal surfaces.
  • Will train in the laundry room with basic knowledge of machines and the proper way to wash, dry and fold linen when needed.
  • May assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist with housekeeping staff during high-volume periods.
  • Comply with special needs and requests of the guests.
  • Follow procedures for security of lost and found items.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and endure various physical movements throughout the day.
  • Able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Attend monthly department meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • Anything that contributes to a positive culture and the success of the hotel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
