Job Description

As the Guest Service Representative, you will great and welcome guests to the hotel and make them feel comfortable while gathering their information for proper guest check-in and check-out. You must perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions: This is a generalized list of day-to-day duties and, may include other tasks as assigned by property leadership.

1: Greet guests using the computerized property management system. Complete all necessary paperwork including guest registration information, appropriate room charges and any other necessary documentation. Take and make changes to guest reservations, through telephone, email, fax, or in person and accurately input data into the reservation system.

2: Promote all brand loyalty programs.

3: Handle and count cash accurately for guests and cash drawer verification. Responsible for cash transactions that happen while on duty. Understand procedure for obtaining proper credit card authorizations. Responsible for balancing cash drawer and shift deposits along with completing necessary shift paperwork.

4: Use proper telephone etiquette, receiving and transferring calls as required, accurately taking messages, noting time and date, recording and making guest wake-up calls. Ability to operate a telecommunications device as needed.

5: Follow emergency procedures and appropriately respond in the event of different types of emergencies. This requires mobility to travel room to room and, up and down stairs to notify guests and assist in the evacuation of the building if needed.

6: Understands rate, type, features, and furnishings of all room types.

7: Knows physical make-up and layout of the building, both interior and exterior.

8: Reviews front desk log and records pertinent activities of your shift in the shift log.

9: Report problems orally or in writing concerning the front desk, guest relations, and maintenance to immediate supervisor on a daily basis.

10: Be aware of changes in hotel policy or operations procedure.

11: Ensures that the front desk area is secure when required to leave the area to offer guest assistance and make use of the portable phone.

12: Delivery of requested amenity items to guest rooms. Ie., extra towels, linens, cribs.

13: Follow procedure of handling disorderly guests and misconduct in the hotel.

14: Assists in cleaning and maintaining lobby coffee stations, and public area of the hotel.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
