Position: Guardian Finance Specialist (Full-time/exempt)
Benefits: 403(b) (employer match available after one year), five (5) days paid vacation, 2 additional days of floating holidays, birthday paid time off, Agency paid holidays.
Location: Sheboygan, WI
Salary Range: $20-22/hr
Reports to: Guardian Manager
General Overview:
The guardian finance specialist is an expert in guardian finances management. They comply with state statutes and all applicable laws on matters of guardianship and conservatorship, including inventory, accounts, reporting, expenses, etc. The guardian finance specialist is an excellent decision maker in the best interest of the wards the Agency serves. This role may have one or more reports.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Prepares and files a ward’s final account
· Communicates with Register in Probates on financial matters
· Processes daily reconciliation of trust bank accounts
· Coordinates and travels to financial institutions to get access to clients’ accounts and funds
· Petitions for fee orders and disseminates to all required entities
· Monitors accuracy of guardianship fee payments
· Supports the guardians in the preparation of SS benefits’ applications
· Monitors the status of SS applications
· Initiates new wards’ Medicaid applications
· Supports guardians in Medicaid renewals
· Supports guardians in the preparation of Foodshare applications, and monitors status
· Reports additional incomes to SS
· Completes the Representative Payee applications for SS
· Supports/educates guardians on financial matters: spenddowns, payments, budget, etc.
· Monitors wards’ Medicaid eligibility
· Keeps accurate notes on wards in CPR
· Collaborates with and backs-up the guardian finance administrative assistant
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (preferred: Finance, Accounting, or related field) with at least two years of relevant experience. Accounting experience preferred. Ability to work independently in multiple settings and to maintain communication with several government and community entities. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor with external and internal customers, warranting them patience and kindness as a representative of FSA. Driver’s license is required for this position.
