Job Description

Position Summary:

Greet and acknowledge all patients/guests in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive guest services and information as necessary. Provide courteous greeting and expedient front door services by ensuring that guests and visitors are treated with excellent hospitality, and are rendered any assistance, thus allowing for the most impressive presentation and warmest reception. Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 10 am to 2pm

Primary Duties:

  • Control traffic flow
  • Adhere to HIPAA, JCAHO, ABM and Hospital standards and regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison to volunteers (if applicable).
  • Manage the drop off/pick up lanes of the driveway.
  • Adhere to the 10 foot/10 second customer service rule by greeting every patient, visitor and guest as they enter or leave facility
  • Monitor the main entrance and alert Security of any possible issues or concerns, including vagrancy and crime
  • Alert environmental services of any spills, hazards in/around hospital entrance
  • Open all vehicle doors for guests, visitors, during drop offs and pick ups
  • Assist patients with oxygen tanks, personal wheelchairs, other medical equipment and luggage in and out of the building.
  • Arrange for immediate assistance in the cases of medical emergencies occurring in the parking areas, lobby or existing upon arrival
  • Connect visitors with proper translators if necessary
  • Coordinate and cooperate with Security and Guest Services at all times
  • Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Secondary language of Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • Able to act independently and make accurate decisions.
  • Proven background managing multi-task operation with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with the area that surrounds the hospital to be better prepared to make recommendations and give directions to patients and guests, is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

Qualifications:

  • Must maintain confidentiality of patients, visitors, staff and guests.
  • Education minimum: high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull objects up to 25 lbs. with reasonable accommodation, and exhibit full range of motion including standing, bending, stooping, kneeling reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing and crouching.
  • Ability to stand continuously and perform job functions for a full shift.
  • Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions.
