Responsibilities:
As a Food Service Worker at St. Francis Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food services. You’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks related to patient and non-patient food service. Your flexibility, attention to detail, commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient environment, and excellent customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver patient trays, ensuring accuracy and adherence to dietary requirements.
  • Service the cafeteria, restocking food items, and maintaining a clean and organized serving area.
  • Work on the tray line, assembling and distributing meals to patients.
  • Stock storage areas with necessary supplies.
  • Prepare nourishments as needed.
  • Assist with dishwashing and pot washing.
  • Mop and sweep floors, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Empty trash receptacles.
  • Learn and rotate through various stations within the food service department.

Qualifications:
Requirements:

  • Flexibility
    : Must be adaptable to variable shifts, including weekends. Shifts typically range from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Further details will be provided upon hiring.
  • Training: Training sessions will start times will occur around 5:30 AM to 6:30 AM or 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
  • Physical Requirements: Candidates must pass a physical examination, including a drug screen.
  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred (starting July 1, 2017).
  • Certification: County-specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and must be maintained current.
  • Customer Service Background: Prior experience in customer service is highly desirable.

Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status, i.e. full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this role is $16.00 to $19.48. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
