Position Overview:
Responsible for quality food service delivery to customers, patients and residents, including preparation, receiving/storage, service and delivery.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: Performs specialized meal delivery and service to patients in the Medical Center
- Transports meals from the main kitchen to the Medical Center, and maintains food temperatures and quality standards while in route
- Responsible for re-fueling, maintaining interior cleanliness, and monitoring of delivery truck
- Delivers and retrieves meal trays in accordance with the established procedures
Performs supervisory and specialized Lead duties.
- Oversees assigned areas and reports deficiencies to management.
- Communicates with management on an ongoing basis
- Provides leadership , guidance and assistance to co-workers as appropriate
- Audits and fills schedule shortages
- Notifies management of problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies
- Detects, removes and reports spoiled and unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, staffing issues or other unusual conditions
- Responsible for any catering deliveries and/or clean-ups
Prepares for cafeteria\catering services before and after service.
- Prepares a variety of food items involving tasks such as selecting, measuring, grinding, slicing, cutting and mixing ingredients and will use a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment
including; grinders, slicers, mixers and blenders
- Sets up and serves patient trays in accordance with established schedule and procedures
- Stores and maintains prepared and partially prepared foods in optimum condition and according to department policies
- Sets up food stations, rotates and keeps them stocked, politely and accurately serves customers, ensuring that all standards of food quality are met (cafeteria, catering)
- Cleans and sanitizes food preparation and/or service areas and cooking utensils appropriately
- Plans and coordinates the rotating of floor stock using First In First Out (FIFO) method
Performs other related duties as assigned and requested.
- Collects, processes and disposes of similar debris in trash compactor such as bottles, cans and boxes are to be recycled, (put in appropriate bins). Grease and oil to be disposed in a grease container.
- Maintains department records, reports and files as required
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings and attends mandatory and required meetings
Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
- Maintains quality control records and participates in ongoing quality assurance program
EDUCATION: Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: DL-California Drivers Class C
SS-Serve Save Certified within 60 Days of hire
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge about food safety and sanitation; especially Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
Ability to perform simple computations, record keeping and cash handling.
Basic computer skills to include keyboarding, mouse movement and data entry skills, Microsoft Outlook, and Kronos time clock
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks in order to complete assignments within the time allotted and maintain standard workflow
Ability to work independently and with others in a flexible, cooperative manner
Communication and active listening skills; including interpersonal skills

Pay Range is $29.55 to $35.46 / hour. Pay Range Pay Range is $28.68 to $34.41 / hour.
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
