Job Description

The Facilities Assistant is responsible for assisting building operations as well as property storage and maintenance. This position requires knowledge of building operations and maintenance and the ability to respond promptly to requests. Additional duties include the coordination of the in-house postal service (incoming and outgoing mail).

This is a part-time non-exempt position. The 20-hour weekly schedule is 8:00 am to noon, Monday through Friday, although some flexibility with start and end times may be possible. Some additional hours on evenings and weekend may be required for special events.

This job description doesn’t imply an employment contract, nor is it intended to include every duty, task or instruction for which the employee is responsible. Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and/or the department supervisor’s request.

This part-time position does not qualify for employee benefits except for pro-rated vacation, sick leave and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and coordinates general building maintenance, including janitorial, landscape and snow removal duties.
  • Organizes storage of expendable building supplies at the warehouse. Retrieves office records from warehouse as needed and provides general warehouse support to the Controller.
  • Interfaces with vendors for building needs as appropriate.
  • Controls building access from the dock area.
  • Processes all types of incoming and outgoing ANA mail. Maintains inventory of all mailing supplies.
  • Monitors mailroom inventory controls supplies that leave or enter mailroom, including printed handouts and packets.
  • Supervises and assists the moving of office furniture and equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, and Word)
  • This position requires strength in problem solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Deliver excellent customer service often in negative and unfavorable circumstances.
  • The ability to multi-task, meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and utilize good judgment and discretion.
  • Capacity to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, working on multiple projects within a given deadline.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $15.75 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
