Hours: 10 hour per Week

The mission of Family Table is to end hunger in the Greater Boston Jewish community while serving those who need our assistance, regardless of religious affiliation.Family Table fulfills its mission by providing Kosher food, creating a caring Jewish connection, and empowering people to make healthy eating a part of their daily lives.

Position Summary:

The Family Table Distribution Assistant works with other team members to prepare for and facilitate food pantry distributions. This position includes working two Sunday mornings per month at one of our three locations. Must have own vehicle and a valid driver's license.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work with other staff at the Family Table food distributions. Duties include directing volunteers, stocking food and facilitating clients as they visit the pantry. Location may vary by month to include either Waltham, Canton, or Marblehead.
• Assist the Food Coordinator with inventory management or other administrative tasks as needed.
• Facilitate positive interactions with and experiences for Family Table volunteers and clients.
• Participate in regular team meetings, agency events, and training, as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• The ability to routinely lift and stack multiple 30-50 lb. boxes is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, outlook, power point), and the ability to learn new software as needed.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Energetic and a team player.
