Join our vibrant retirement community as a vital member of our culinary team! We are seeking a dedicated DIshwasher who can both collaborate with fellow staff members and excel independently.

Works effectively and efficiently to gather, clean and store dishes in a safe and sanitary manner. The Dishwasher needs to work with other PVRC employees to assure a positive dining experience for all residents and guests of PVRC. The Dishwasher reports directly to the Executive Chef and/or the Dining Services Manager with the general supervision of the VP of Program Development and CEO.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma, GED or presently attending High School.
• Previous dishwashing experience preferred but not required.
• Must learn correct procedures and follow those procedures with minimal supervision.

Must have a basic understanding of sanitation and safety. ServSafe certification or ability to obtain the certification required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must speak, read and write in the English language to be able to communicate with staff and residents.
• Ability to communicate with the elderly and other team members in a polite, respectful and courteous manner.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow oral and written instruction.
• Ability to accept and utilize supervision.
• Ability to understand and maintain confidential information.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to exhibit a solution oriented positive attitude.
• Ability to understand food preparation and sanitary regulations.

REASONING ABILITY

• Must be able to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Must decide when assistance is needed in tasks to prevent injury and/or damage to self and/or items.
• Must be able to think quickly and rationally to respond to emergency situations and residents needs.

• Required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
• Continually and repeatedly walk, stand, move from place to place, bend, twist, turn, lift, carry, feel and grasp, reach with arms, push and pull, kneel, crouch and stoop.
• Required to lift and carry trays up to 25 pounds frequently.
• Occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must have vision and hearing within normal limits and be able to identify objects by color.
• Occasionally assist a resident to transfer from a sitting position to a standing position.
• Must have capacity to accomplish tasks using fine motor skills.
