Position Details:
  • Employment Status: Part-Time
SAME DAY PAY available!:
SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Food Service Director, is responsible for overall service in the independent and assisted living dining rooms and special functions. These areas will be operated withing the established objectives, standards, policies, and procedures. Assists in the maintenance of sound inter-departmental relations and the integration of the dining services department with the facility plan of operation.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of dining room service techniques, Resident relations, plate presentation, sanitation, food handling, special functions and healthcare operations, If not already ServSafe certified, it is expected that the Dining Room Supervisor become certified within one year from acceptance of this position.
  • Education: A high school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
  • Experience: Two years or more experience in the field of dining services, Gerontology experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The duties of this position include the following:
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude.
  • Copes with most problems and confers with the Director on unusual problems.
  • Assists in providing an enjoyable dining experience for Residents, guests, and staff, eliminating food as an issue for Administration.
  • Directly supervises all service personnel during the meal period.
  • Supervises all special functions and ensures that these functions are serviced correctly.
  • In cooperation with the Nursing Staff, supervises the service in the Assisted Living Dining Room.
  • Supervises training, evaluating, and counseling of all service personnel in accordance with the personnel policies of the community. Promotes the professional growth and development of al staff.
  • Conducts pre-meal meeting before each meal period for all service staff, including health care service personnel to ensure that all departmental standards are being upheld.
  • Circulates in the dining room during meal periods to field Resident/guest comments pertaining to service and food quality. Immediately attempts to correct problems in these areas.
  • Conducts and documents weekly meetings with all service personnel.
  • Attends the monthly Resident Dining Committee meeting.
  • Is responsible for that the dining room, tables, chairs are appropriately cleaned and sanitized.
  • Maintains control over all table-top and menu needs, communicating these needs to the Director.
  • Prepares weekly work schedule for all service personnel.
