POSITION SUMMARY: Cleans hospital patient's rooms, baths, laboratories, offices, clinic exam rooms, halls, and other areas as assigned.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
- Is responsive to customer needs.
- Maintain all assigned patient rooms, ancillary areas and department areas in a clean neat and sanitary manner.
- Follows appropriate protocol following patient discharges as observed by supervisor/Team leader.
- Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by adherence to hospital and departmental annual training commitments.
- Maintains all clinic areas and corridors with the correct preventative maintenance procedures as outlined in department policy as requested.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Inspects and utilizes judgment in determining which cleaning techniques are outlined in orientation guidelines to follow.
- Demonstrated efficient and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by supervisor.
- Adheres to all Aramark appearance standards and maintains a professional dress at all times while working.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment in the assigned area to protect patient safety and health.
- Diligently employs universal precautions when disposing of trash and bio-hazardous materials.
- Thoroughly mops and vacuums floors in accordance with established guidelines.
- Keeps cart properly stocked with equipment and cleaning supplies; ensures all chemicals are properly labeled, and all equipment is in good working condition.
- Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition.
- Distributes laundered articles and linens.
- Replaces soiled drapes and cubicle curtains according to standard procedure.
- May disinfect and sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and sterilizing equipment.
- Performs all other related duties. Maintains compliance with ARAMARK’s standards of operation, client and within ARAMARK’s Business Conduct Policy.
- Performs other tasks, as needed, to maintain the assigned area in a clean and orderly fashion.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
Experience Ability to perform job duties and on-the-job training.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.
LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: Medium Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
