Content Creator - Energy Equity & Climate

Atlanta, GA

Dialogue Collaborative, a project of Georgia Alliance Education Fund, is seeking a part-time content creator to produce various types of content for the energy equity and climate vertical of our organization’s and partners brand and social media. The content creator will work closely with the Digital Communications Manager, department staff, and partner organizations to uplift climate equity and social justice issues and the work of the grassroots coalitions Progress Georgia partners with. Ideal candidates are interested in creating easily digestible, accessible, and authentic content about often complex environmental topics and policies for a general audience that connects with Georgia’s most impacted communities.

Basic Qualifications:

Have or are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation date in 2023 or 2024 accepted) in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism/Media, Theater, Film or any other related field

Eligible to work in the United States

In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Threads, etc.)

We are seeking someone that:

Is a social media aficionado, you have your finger on the pulse of the latest & greatest and aren't afraid to test out new channels and figure out what works;

Is a political junkie and committed to social justice;

Is comfortable on camera;

Is able to understand complex issues and turn it into easily digestible content;

Is comfortable working in a flexible, fast-paced, dynamic environment where changes in external factors can create new opportunities and challenges to existing strategies;

Has excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail, specifically with projects that may require rapid response or a quick turnaround;

Is a collaborative team player, creative thinker, and resourceful problem solver;

Has basic graphic design and video editing experience;

Is proficient at managing their own projects and workload while incorporating feedback and meeting proposed deadlines;

Has experience working in Georgia (or within the South) strongly preferred;

Responsibilities:

Brainstorm and collaborate with the digital and communications departments to develop and produce short form content.

Lead content creation and tackle new channels and content formats, with a strong focus on video (e.g. Reels, TikTok, Youtube).

Stay abreast of relevant political, social justice, energy, and environmental news in Georgia and across the country.

Distill complex climate equity and political topics into easily digestible content for a general audience with assistance from experts and feedback from creative leads and stakeholders.

Closely monitor key trends and best practices for social media and content creation, identifying and championing areas of opportunity for the brand.

Compensation and Time Commitment:

Reports to: Digital Communications Director

Based in: Atlanta, GA

Salary: $30,000 annually

Time Commitment: 25 hours per week

This role supports a year-long project that may lead to permanent employment

Start date: Immediately

Travel: Some in-state travel may be required
