Client Outreach

900-hour AmeriCorps Position

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 9am - 2pm and 3rd Friday of the month

Position hours: 20 hours per week

*Note: The AmeriCorps member responsibilities require a flexible schedule to be determined weekly, monthly with their supervisor.

Position Summary:

The Frontier Community Coalition Client Outreach will assist in the daily functions of the services that meet the needs of low-income families and individuals.

This position has recurring access to vulnerable populations.

This position does not duplicate work of previous or existing employees or volunteers, supplant the hiring of workers, or include service or duties that have been performed or were performed by a current employee an employee who recently resigned or was discharged, an employee subject to a reduction in work or an employee who is on leave.

Primary Responsibilities: (tasks & duties that is fundamental & critical)

· Reviews all new intake forms. This includes creating & updating physical files with all pertinent documents and creating and updating electronic file in eLogic/HMIS.

· Completes assessments with clients, provides service and/or refers to appropriate department or agency.

· Identifies, outreaches, and recruits eligible program participants.

· Actively recruits volunteers as needed for the FCAA activities.

· Collects required data for all direct participants.

· Participates in all data and reports training.

. Travel and participate in Mobil Harvest every 3rd Friday in Battle Mountain.

· Protects client’s confidentiality including all discussions, documents, files, and electronic exchanges per Policies and Procedures and Client Agreement.

· Ensures report date is complete for completion of reports, as required by the Agency, and requested by supervisors using eLogic/HIMS.

· Attend staff meetings, trainings, and other FCAA activities as required.

· Respects confidentiality in discussing participant/consumer, staff, volunteers, and organizational matters.

· Assist with local community presentations on eligibility and program services as needed.

· Community Outreach via social media, printed flyers, and special groups.

· Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Benefits/Experience Gained:

This position will gain valuable training in Social Services, Resources and Programs offered in the Humboldt County area, community development training, emergency assistance, organizing trainings and events, public speaking, written and oral communication, advertising, recruiting and organizing community volunteers, and networking with community members. After successfully completing the term the member will receive and education award of $3,697.50.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED certificate

· Able to pass a background check

· Computer skills

· Self-starter, able to work independently, yet flexible to work in a multi-task environment

· Professional demeanor and ethics and must strictly adhere to the confidentiality policies of the FCAA

· Team player with excellent written and verbal skills

· Able to lift at least 50 LB

· Current driver’s license and personal transportation (vehicle) required

Dress Code:

· Dress is business casual with a professional appearance; AmeriCorps members are expected to wear AmeriCorps uniform /logo apparel while serving; jeans are acceptable.

· The member will participate in one service days with The Nevada Outdoor School AmeriCorps Program and other community-wide events throughout the service year. Additionally, the member will participate in monthly team meetings and trainings in Winnemucca, NV or via conference call.

Travel:

· It will, at times, be necessary to use your personal vehicle for travel. Intown travel will not be reimbursed, however out-of-town travel will be reimbursed at the state rates. The state uses the federal guidelines for per diem and lodging rates and you can find the updated versions at http:www.gsa.gov/mie
