SUMMARY

The CACFP Field Representative is responsible for monitoring home reviews of licensed Family Day Care Homes (FDCH) participating in CACFP. Monitoring includes routine observations to ensure that nutritious meals are being served in compliance with USDA standards and guidelines, as well as assisting in administrative support to ensure efficient program operations.

When not in the field, the CACFP Field Representative is also responsible for assisting with program operations from a remote office location in Jefferson, Berkeley, or Morgan county.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES

§ Performs mandatory onsite meal service reviews at least 3 times annually for each assigned FDCH provider.

§ Maintain knowledge of CACFP regulations through program meetings and annual key staff training.

§ Ensures FDCH providers have knowledge of CACFP requirements in order to be successful.

§ Adapts training and technical assistance based upon the needs (education level and learning styles) of individual providers.

§ Completes necessary monitoring forms to report program compliance in meal reviews.

§ Participate in the development and delivery of annual training consisting of USDA updates, health and safety issues and CACFP nutrition standards.

§ Assists with child enrollment procedures.

§ Provides technical assistance to FDCH providers.

§ Routine travel in Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan counties.

  • Additional travel may be required as necessary.

III. ADDITIONAL DUTIES

§ Maintain a respectful, professional, and supportive working relationship with FDCH providers in assigned counties.

§ Provide monthly activity reports/travel expenses to Director by 5th of each month.

§ Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

§ Office support tasks including filing, typing, scanning, data entry and binding.

§ Demonstrates polite and professional communication via phone, email and mail.

§ Answers phone and directs information to appropriate person.

§ Attends training to maintain current knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Programs, WVACES and Kidkare.

IV. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ No supervisory responsibilities.

V. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· Must have a reliable vehicle and be willing to serve homes in Berkeley, Jefferson, and Morgan counties.

· Must have excellent observation skills.

· The ability to document results of meal reviews.

· Must have the ability to understand, explain and enforce state and federal CACFP guidelines.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality.

· Strong organizational skills.

· The ability to work professionally with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Data entry skills.

· Ability to follow directions.

· Knowledge of office equipment and understanding of sound basic office procedures.

· Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17,500.00 per year

Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
